What is BoringDAO, why it is necessary in crypto-world and some words about tunnels

Hello to all readers. Today I gonna tell u what BoringDAO is and why it is so necessary in crypto-world, about tunnels and their creation
First of all let’s learn what BoringDAO is. BoringDAO is cross-chain project, which main aim is to increase usability of tokens, that are not programmable or in inappropriate chain. For example BTC, LTC are all left out of the “DeFi” world because they are not ERC-20 Tokens. So it makes whales holding assets like BTC and LTC out of projects, made for farming with tokens like these and increasing their tokens amount.
BoringDAO is created to solve this problem. It is secure and easy to use. There are some steps u need to follow to use BoringDAO tunnels of making assets ERC-20 or BSC.
BoringDAO Token is the asset minted by BoringDAO, abbreviated as oToken. The oToken follows the ERC20 Token standard which enables the wrapped assets to enter the Ethereum DeFi world.
From docs we can read about minting and it is explained using BTC as usual asset of the other chain. The oToken minted by BoringDAO is an ERC-20 token backed by BTC and thus is named “Boring BTC”, abbreviated as oBTC. The marketing prices of these oBTC reflect the values of Bitcoins backing them.
MINTING:

  1. Alice needs to bind her Bitcoin address and Ethereum address through a smart contract, and then transfers x BTC assets to a designated multi-signature custody address.
  2. The asset custodians confirm the receipt of the asset and then mint x oBTC (equivalent to x BTC value) on the Ethereum.
  3. The asset custodian transfers x oBTC to Alice’s ETH address and charges 0.2% fee and extra network fees of the asset value as minting fee.

REDEMPTION/BURN:

  1. If Alice requests to redeem oBTC back to the original BTC asset, she uses a wallet such as metamask to burn x oBTC with a specific smart contract and she pays for 0.2% of the asset value as redemption fee in BOR.
  2. The asset custodians listen to the smart contract event to obtain the burn information.
  3. After reaching a consensus between the multi-signatures, they transfer x btc to the address of Alice.

BoringDAO created a new concept called “Tunnel”. For every asset there will be an exclusive minting tunnel. Any member of the community can create tunnel for any asset he wants. User needs 500 BOR for tunnel creation and the tunnel would start only after 3000 BOR are pledged. It is made not to waste community’s energy. In the next article I will tell how much u can earn with making a tunnel and what risks would u have.

Для начала давайте изучим инфу о BoringDAO. BoringDAO это кросс-чейн проект, чья цель повысить возможности использования токенов других сетей. Например BTC и LTC остаются за дверями Дефи пространства из-за их сетей. Это делает китов, держащих эти токены никоим образом непричастными к дефи проектам, которые созданы для фарминга и увеличения количества токенов в кошельке.
BoringDAO создан для решения данной проблемы. Он безопасен и легок в использовании. Есть несколько шагов, которым вы должны следовать для того, чтобы использовать туннели.
Из документов мы можем прочитать о минтинге и о том, как использовать BTC как обычный актив эфириум сети. Отокен создается BoringDAO как токен на сети эфира подкрепленный BTC и называется oBTC. Его цена зависит от биткоина.
МИНТИНГ:

  1. Алисе надо прикрепить её BTC и ETH адреса через смарт-контракт и перевести ее биткоин на созданный мульти-кошелек
  2. Подтверждающие сеть получат выписку и создадут столько же oBTC на эфире.
  3. Затем данные токены будут переведены на кошелек Алисы с вычетом комиссии в 0.2% и других комиссий сети.

ВОЗМЕЩЕНИЕ/СЖИГАНИЕ:

  1. Если Алисе надо перевести oBTC обратно в BTC, она сожжёт oBTC с помощью созданного для этого смарт-контракта, и заплатит 0.2% комиссии от объема токенов в БОР.
  2. Хранители сети получат информацию о сжигании.
  3. После достижения мульти-подписей, хранители переводят BTC на адрес Алисы.

BoringDAO создали новый концепт, названный туннелем. Каждый член сообщества может создать туннель для любого актива, но ему надо 500 БОР для активации туннеля, а также в общей сумме 2000 БОР для запуска туннеля. Это сделано чтобы не было создано кучу бесполезных туннелей. В следующих статьях я расскажу сколько можно заработать с туннеля, а также какие риски нужно иметь ввиду при создании собственного туннеля.
